Our Little Home: Pennsylvania Edition

Thank the sweet heaven's for Mama's, just like when I was younger....I lose it and she finds it and she found my camera today stuffed in her couch cushions. Don't ask me how it got there but I am so freaking excited and glad that I was able to find it for:

a.) House photos duh!!
b.) The holidays...there coming quick!

There is alot of pictures so if looking at stranger's houses is not your thing than you might just want to skip over this post. Also, let's keep in mind that we have only been in the house a couple weeks so not everything is finished. I wanted to show what we got accomplished so far but I'm sure there will be more  redecorating pictures to come, so without further adieu

Our Little Home

Living Room:
Here's the view looking in from our front door. I am really happy with how the paint color we chose turned out and compliments the couch, chaise, and recliner my sister gave to us. I also like that it's open into the kitchen.

A view looking in from our kitchen to the right side. We kept the bookcase from Florida and the chaise is from my sister, sweet right? She also gave us that little black heater. It looks like a coal stove fireplace, it even flickers, but it's actually has a heater at the bottom. I need to get a throw or pillow for the chaise though, it's driving me nuts that it's bare.

View looking in from kitchen on the left side. Again the couch and recliner are from my sis and I brought the fake tree (don't judge) from Florida and shelf from my childhood room, which was my Nan's. Like I mentioned before, nothing is 100% done and in this room I would like to create a photo collage for the blank space above the couch and get some throw pillows for the couch.
Overall view of living room from kitchen. I like that there is a direct path right from the front door through the house. I love the laminate wood flooring and how everything came together. When we moved in the one thing I didn't like was that you could see through the frosted glass window so I made Big Man go get a curtain for it., I feel much safer and more comfortable now.

Kitchen:
Look at the all the cabinet and counter space....ahhhhh *squeal*!!! To all you ladies with your Southern Living professional kitchen's this might not be a big deal but to a girl who lived in an apartment with a tiny kitchen and then in another that burned up...this is something worth being excited about. It also has pretty nice appliances and I like the finish on the cabinets.

A closer look at the cabinets and oven. It needs a little more decor but I will get to that. Right now I have out the bare minimum of my fall decor and I have the sign above my stove that says:
"I Cook 3 Meals...-Frozen - Microwave -Takeout"...so true for this future wifey's cooking abilities.

Our dining room table from Florida and 'pantry'. Pay no mind to the blue painters tape around the window, Big Man still has to do the trim as well as find and hang up window treatments.

View of the kitchen from our hallway. We contemplated moving the table into the middle but since it's only us and we rarely eat there we decided to just keep it over next to the window so we had more room to manuever elsewhere.

Bathroom:
Yes, our bathroom is lime green....with the flash and the lighting it is way brighter than I thought it was going to be. I think it also look brighter because I have nothing hung up or really decorated yet. I think once it is decorated it will look much better but I still like it and hope it comes out beautifully.

Again with the mirrors, it is bright but I have hopes for my girl. With no windows, I'm glad that I did choose a brighter color, it adds a little ooomph to the house. I do like the amount of storage in here though but I would change the color of the cabinets, I'm not digging those.

Our shower...again not much going on here but c'mon my ducky rug is awesomeness...I don't care ehat you say!

Bedroom:
The view from the door. If you remember from this post the walls in here were a crazy bright orange color so we wanted to tone it down and used Valspar's 'Ponytail' color. It's a little darker in person but I like the way it looks with our new head and footboard. Sorry for the ugliness of the bed. We are in the process of finding a new comforter and bed set, until then this is what were sleeping on and yes that is my Sunshine Care Bear that I do still sleep with, say somethin'. : )

This room def. needs some remodeling but this is where were at right now. The bed, vanity and painting (my cuz painted it, it's beautiful in person) will stay but Big Man will be building us new nightstands (yay!), I want to get my window treatments...either bamboo blinds or some curtains, and I would like to some plants in here because we get great light in here.

Another view, this time of our closet...we share one but it is bigger than the one we shared at my parent's that Big Man took over so this one is def. a plus.

Basement:
Not much going on here...pretty ugly, moving on.....

This is our half bath in our basement. It's tiny but c'mon how much room do you need in the basement to peep or poop..not much I hope. This is also a plus if Big Man is doing his business upstairs, I can run down here.

This is a bare part of the wall that I plan on decorating but I just wanted to show you this awesome column that my dad and dear departed Pop got me at the closing of their church. People question why I keep it but I think it is freaking awesome and want to find something fabulous to put on it.

OUR BAR!!!
Big Man was in heaven when he saw this and we plan on throwing alot of fun parties down here. My cuz also painted that picture I think it looks good there cause it looks like a man who would contemplate something at a bar. Since we don't live in a big city anymore alot of people up here build bars in their basement so they don't have to go out esp. in the cold...heck I'm all for it....all I have to do is walk up the stairs if I'm drunk...haha.

On that wall Big Man is planning to put a 47 or 50 inch tv so the boys can come over and watch the games and drink. They'll probably be more seating over there too but for right now BM's guitar and amp rest there.

Another view of the bar

Patio & Yard:
Patio chairs...that's where I smoke..I know it's bad but it is what it is.

There is not much out here now since winter is fast approaching but in the summer we would like to get a patio table and nice grill to put out here.

Our wittle yard but this is pretty nice for little 'ol Mia....and Me and Big Man since we never had a yard yard before.

And that's it...I hope you enjoyed the tour and will continue on my journey of redecorating. : )

Home Sweet Home :)

I know this has been a long time coming but since the girls are gone, I've finally gotten a chance to organize and give everything a good cleaning.
And that means you get a peek at
La Casa de Little Woman y Big Man!!!
Living Room
Oh how I wish our living room looked like this everyday. The girls toys which are usually strewn bout the floor are now tucked away there in the corner. I really like this living room though because it's nice and open! :)
The Fireplace
Not much else to say...

Another View of the Living Room
Kinda bare but remember we just moved in about 2 months ago.
Mia's crate sits over in the corner of the room.

Dining Room
Where the food is eaten, yes we actually eat at our table.
We plan on hanging a mirror my Mom bought us above the bookcase.
Kitchen
Again also pretty bare but were working on it.
***
And because I was on a cleaning kick today I even organized our pantry.
BEFORE
Hodge podge a thrown about

AFTER
A small improvement...at least everything is grouped and lined up.

I think Mia wants to come to Pennsylvania too! : )

Fun Foto Friday

Get ready for a nice little picture overload! :)
First I have to thank the lovely Gwen from Confessions of a Control Freak.
She sent me this adorable bag (monogrammed I must say) and a sweet little note with it!
Big Man opened it first cause it had his name on it so I didn't get the thrill of opening it myself but I love it anyway!
Thank you sweetie and I def. plan on participating with the snail mail fun soon as I'm settled in the new home.
And speaking of homes, let's take a tour through my apartment before it was all packed up and ugly lookin..this is what my pretty apartment looked like before:
( One view of our living room..don't mind the string hanging in the picture that's Mia playtoy.)

(Another view..yes we are big Bob Marley fans!)

(Our teeny tiny kitchen..And he wonders why I don't cook)

(Our dining room)

(See the toy?...We hang it there to keep her busy!)

(Our cozy little bathroom)

Our New Casa!! : )

So this is not #4, but this is the other house we were waiting on a call back from to see if it was pet friendly.

Here it is:

(The front of the house)
(View from the dining/living room looking to the front & kitchen)
(Backyard and screened in porch)

Mind you those are none of our decorations or our furniture. We don't move till the end of the month. So we got a lot to do and pack in a little amount of time.

I'm sure we'll get it all done though.

YAY US!!!!
